This work is a series of reflections, in the form of interventions by this well-know Veronese psychiatrist, oriented around the complex link that forms between individuals and the moral and legal rules sanctioning their relationship with society.

The book reviews some of the issues, particularly recent events, that have attracted public attention, at times dramatically so: religious sects, violence at the stadium, juvenile crime, etc.

However, a basic consideration seems to run through the entire work i.e. the awareness that psychological attitude and the perception of individual limits are changing, as are forms of crime, obliging the forces of law and order to continually reformulate their objectives and intervention strategies.

The aim of this teaching handbook, diligently edited by Dr. Giuseppe Cusumano, is to suggest alternative methods of managing the delicate balance that has been established between the individual and Society.
